Located in the heart of downtown Salt Lake City, the First United Methodist Church’s community garden is an expression of faith and service. Established in late summer and fall of 2023 with support from a Salt Lake City Food Production grant, this garden is more than a place to grow fresh produce—it’s a space for connection, renewal, and community.

The garden serves as part of the church’s commitment to loving and serving its neighbors, bringing people together to cultivate not just fruits and vegetables, but also relationships and shared purpose. It reflects the church’s mission to bridge the deep gladness of the soul by offering a tangible way to nourish both body and spirit.
